"Abu Dhabi Development" He participates in the meeting of the heads of operations of the Arab Coordination Group in Riyadh

RIYADH, December 9 / WAM / The Arab Coordination Group held a regular meeting at the technical level for heads of operations during the period from 8 to 9 December in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to discuss joint initiatives and development projects, with the participation of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.

The meeting constituted a regular session to continue existing work, submit progress reports, and implement directives at the technical level.

The Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) hosted the meeting, which brought together high-level representatives and experts from all Arab Coordination Group institutions.

The participants reviewed the progress made in ongoing programmes, discussed new opportunities to enhance cooperation, and agreed to identify key priorities aimed at accelerating the pace of sustainable development in member states and partner countries.

The discussions focused on strengthening joint financing mechanisms, encouraging innovation in the areas of development cooperation, and enhancing climate resilience and social programs that are consistent with sustainable development goals.

The group also reviewed the results of previous engagements, including the virtual meetings held on November 27 with the Green Climate Fund and the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, which aimed to foster new partnerships with potential partners to achieve common goals.

The meeting discussed a number of prominent topics, including the Abdul Latif Yousef Al-Hamad Development Award in the Arab World, the Prince Talal International Award for Human Development, and the group’s advisory report on its future strategic directions, in addition to reviewing the results of the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Arab Coordination Group, which was held last October in the American capital, Washington, to celebrate fifty years of fruitful cooperation and effective contribution to financing development at the Arab and international levels.

During the meeting, representatives of member institutions stressed the importance of solidarity, exchange of experiences, and strategic coordination to confront emerging global challenges and enhance the collective impact of the group.

The results of this meeting will contribute to strengthening and guiding the Arab Coordination Group’s commitment to effective partnerships, innovative financing mechanisms, and achieving sustainable development around the world.

The group includes 10 institutions in the form of national funds, multilateral Arab regional institutions, and international institutions, namely: the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Arab Gulf Program for Development, the Arab Monetary Fund, the Islamic Development Bank, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, the OPEC Fund for International Development, the Qatar Fund for Development, and the Saudi Fund for Development.
