Banjul, January 24, 2017 – Financial Afrik, the African media organization, during its annual conference held in the Gambian capital, Banjul, chose Ali Al-Shammari, Managing Director and CEO of the Emirati company, Global South Utilities, as a pioneer for Arab-African cooperation, among a list of 100 influential African figures in the fields of economy, investment and development, in appreciation of his role in supporting sustainable energy projects and promoting long-term investment in the African continent.
This honor comes as a culmination of Al-Shammari’s contributions to implementing qualitative renewable energy projects in a number of African countries, including Chad, Madagascar, the Central African Republic, and the Comoros, which contributes to enhancing production capabilities and supporting economic stability, while the company aspires to reach a production capacity of up to 750 megawatts by 2027.
