Embodying the care and presence of His Royal Highness The Crown Prince Prime Minister – may God protect him – the opening ceremony of the facilities of King Salman Air Base in the central sector, the unlimited support that the Ministry of Defense enjoys from the wise leadership, and its continuous support to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces, develop their capabilities, and raise their efficiency and combat readiness, in keeping with the strategic transformations that the Ministry is witnessing within the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The opening of the facilities of the King Salman Air Base in the central sector comes as a strategic extension of the comprehensive modernization plans pursued by the Royal Saudi Air Force, and an enhancement of its capabilities, capabilities and advanced combat systems that include the latest fighters, air technologies and highly trained and professional national competencies.

King Salman Air Base in the central sector is one of the strategic projects within the national defense system, due to its role in enhancing the combat readiness of the Air Force in particular International standards in design and implementation, and the implementation of its development project began in the third quarter of 2021 AD, and the construction stages took 38 months.

The facilities of the King Salman Air Base in the central sector were designed in the Salmanian style, to embody the architectural identity of the capital, Riyadh, and keep pace with its modern urban trends, and included the implementation of 115 buildings with a total area exceeding 126 thousand square meters.

Facilities and training services

It is located The new location of King Salman Air Base in the Central Sector in the south of Riyadh, with an area of 42 square kilometers, and its facilities include advanced infrastructure, technical, training, administrative, and residential facilities and support services. It provides an integrated operational environment that enhances the efficiency of planning, implementation, and support of joint operations in various operational circumstances, and aims to raise the efficiency of the Royal Saudi Air Force and enhance its combat readiness.

The Air Force aims to plant three thousand trees at King Salman Air Base in the Central Sector and its facilities, This is in coordination with the Riyadh Municipality and in partnership with “Green Riyadh”, in support of the efforts of the Green Saudi Initiative and to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 through developing vegetation and enhancing environmental sustainability.
