Thursday, January 1, New Year’s holiday and Friday “remote work” for federal government employees

Today, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced the 2026 New Year holiday for the federal government, as the holiday will be on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
The authority said that Friday, January 2, 2026, is a “remote work” day for federal government employees, except for those whose work nature requires otherwise.
