International Energy raises its forecast for global oil demand growth in 2026

Raised International Energy Agency forecasts for The agency raised its forecast for the growth of global demand for Oil for this year and next, given the improving macroeconomic outlook and"Concerns about tariffs have largely subsided"
At the same time, it was estimated that supply growth would be slightly lower than previously expected in the period (2025-2026).

The continuation of parallel markets

The International Energy Agency expects the phenomenon to continue. "Parallel markets"The surplus supply of crude oil coincides with a scarcity in fuel markets, a trend that is likely to continue for a while. The Energy Agency raised its expectations for oil demand growth in 2026 by 90,000 barrels per day to 860,000 barrels per day, and its expectations for 2025 by 40,000 barrels per day to 830,000 barrels per day.
The agency added that the decline in oil prices and the decline in the value of the dollar, both of which are approaching its lowest level in 4 years, constitute additional support factors for increasing demand for oil next year.

It explained that the growth in demand in 2025 came almost entirely from non-OECD countries, which are more dependent on their own macroeconomic conditions.
The International Energy Agency expects global oil supply to rise by 2.4 million barrels per day next year, after previously forecasting supply would grow by 2.5 million barrels per day.
