Morocco hunts the “Qasioun Eagles” with Azzaro’s goal… and qualifies for the Arab Cup semi-finals

The Moroccan national team reserved a place in the semi-finals of the Arab Cup “Qatar 2025” by defeating its Syrian counterpart, “Nosour Qasioun” with an unanswered goal, today, Thursday, assuming superior performance and result.
The “Atlas Lions” owe this victory to Ajman striker Walid Azaro, who scored the only goal of the match after following Munir Shweir’s shot that bounced off the goalkeeper and completed it into the net (79).
The beginning of the confrontation was strong on both sides, as the Moroccan team tried to build its attacks across the sides and in depth, while the Syrian team relied on high pressure to confuse the “Atlas Lions” defense.
The Moroccan national team suffered a painful blow in the 24th minute after Tarek Tisoudali was injured, and he was forced to leave the field to be replaced by Walid Azaro.
Despite this early change, Morocco continued to control and threaten the Syrian goal with several chances, the most notable of which was an opportunity by Amin Zahzouh via a header, which the Syrian goalkeeper excelled in blocking. Karim Barkawi also wasted a dangerous opportunity in the 34th minute after he executed a double back kick that went wide of the goal.
During the last minutes of the first half, the Moroccan team imposed its advantage and forced its Syrian counterpart to retreat, and its player, Walid Al-Karti, had a great opportunity to score via a header following a corner kick, but it passed near the “40” post.
The second half witnessed almost clear control for the Moroccan national team, and the pressure increased on the brilliant goalkeeper Elias Hadiya, who blocked more than one goal from Osama Tannan’s shot, which he fired from inside the box and sent it away for a corner.
But the Syrian defense was unable to hold on any longer, as Walid Azaro scored the winning goal (79).
In the first minute of stoppage time, the Moroccan defender, Mohamed Mofid, received a direct red card, but the remaining time did not help “Nusour Qasioun” to return.
