المملكة: “Health”: The Kingdom is free of malaria endemicity… and Jazan is at the forefront of monitoring imported cases
The Ministry of Health officially announced that the Kingdom is completely free of any local infections The malignant type accounted for the largest percentage of detected cases, recording 3,798 infections, while “P. vivax and ovale,” or what is known as the benign triad, came in second place with 2,876 cases, while the benign tetrad “P. malaria” was limited to only 54 cases, in addition to 313 mixed cases being monitored.
Jazan tops the regions of the Kingdom
And the region topped the list. Jazan is listed as the first line of defense, as it recorded the highest Examination rates and positive results, with a total of more than 149,000 tests, revealed 3,251 confirmed cases, all coming from abroad, which varied between 2,099 cases of the malignant type, and their regular classifications were distributed between imported and imported cases.
The Asir region came in second place in terms of the number of infections discovered, with 869 positive cases recorded out of more than 23,000 samples examined, followed by Jeddah Governorate in The third place came with 667 positive cases, the majority of which were benign with the triple type, which reflects the varying patterns of arrivals and population movement between the regions.
The capital, Riyadh, recorded 513 positive cases, all of them imported from abroad, after conducting extensive examinations that included more than 66 thousand people, which confirms the vigilance of the health systems in the central and densely populated regions to prevent any localization of the disease.
And in the Eastern Region, health teams intensified their efforts to rank second nationally. In the number of tests, with a total of more than 124 thousand samples, they resulted in monitoring only 434 positive imported cases, which varied between malignant, benign, and mixed cases, while the numbers varied in the rest of the Ministry’s branches and offices, confirming the comprehensiveness of the health oversight coverage for all parts of the Kingdom.
