The death toll from Indonesia’s floods exceeds 1,000

The death toll from floods and landslides that struck Indonesia has risen to 1,003 dead, while 218 people are still missing.

The National Disaster Management Agency in Indonesia reported today that the floods that struck the provinces of North and West Sumatra and Aceh also resulted in the injury of more than 5,400 people, while 1.2 million people are still residing in temporary shelters.
