Rabdan Academy obtains accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges "SACSCOC"

Abu Dhabi, December 14 / WAM / Rabdan Academy has received accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), which is the highest and most influential institutional accreditation body in the United States of America, and is internationally recognized for ensuring quality in institutions of higher education.

Thus, Rabdan Academy becomes the first government educational institution in the UAE to obtain this accreditation, and the first in the world specialized in the fields of defence, security and crisis management, to obtain this high-level recognition.

This achievement comes after the Academy announced in December 2024 that its candidacy for this global accreditation had been accepted, following the visit of a committee composed of nine international experts who conducted a comprehensive evaluation of governance standards, the effectiveness of academic programs, the quality of student services, and the efficiency of institutional systems, which paved the way for the official announcement of granting full accreditation to the Academy.

His Excellency James Morse, President of Rabdan Academy, confirmed that this accreditation represents a qualitative turning point in the academy’s journey, pointing out that Rabdan Academy’s obtaining accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges reflects its international credibility, enhances its competitive reputation, and paves the way for strategic partnerships with international universities through student exchange programs, research cooperation, and dual academic programs.

He added that this accreditation gives the Academy’s students a tangible added value, including the ease of transferring study hours and academic recognition in accredited educational institutions in the world, in addition to the high confidence that the Academy’s certificates enjoy among local and international employers, and the academic excellence reflected by the faculty composed of graduates of the best 200 universities in the world.

This global accreditation reflects the Academy’s highest international standards in program design, quality of teaching, measurement of learning outcomes, student support services, and continuous development of institutional performance, which consolidates its position as an international educational destination in the fields of safety, security, defense, and crisis management.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges is the world’s leading institutional accreditor for quality assurance in higher education, responsible for accrediting institutions awarding bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, including programs offered via distance learning and face-to-face assessment.

The association bases its mission on ensuring the quality of education and enhancing the effectiveness of educational institutions. Obtaining its accreditation indicates that the institution possesses an appropriate mission for higher education, sufficient resources, programs and services to achieve and sustain this mission, and clear educational goals whose achievement can be measured.
