Ahmed Al-Ahmad is a true hero and what he did was the most amazing in my life

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese praised the courage of Ahmed Al-Ahmad, who attacked one of the perpetrators of the Sydney attack from behind, adding that the scene was “the most surprising I have ever seen in my life,” referring to the video that spread on social media showing Al-Ahmad intervening in confronting the gunman.

Albanese added: “A man approaches a gunman who was shooting at people, and disarms him alone, putting his life in danger to save the lives of countless people.”

He continued, “This man is a true hero, and I have no doubt that there are many alive thanks to his courage.”

Amid the bloody attack on Bondi Beach in the Australian city of Sydney, a man wearing a white shirt caught the attention, as he appeared attacking one of the attackers from behind, snatching the gun from him and pointing it at him to prevent him from completing his attack.

Al-Ahmad was shot by a second gunman who was stationed on a nearby bridge, wounding him with two bullets in his shoulder and hand.

The man became the talk of the hour, as the video spread on social media platforms, giving him the title of “Sydney’s Hero.”

The Australian Channel 7 revealed the identity of the hero, noting that he is a Muslim man named Ahmed Al-Ahmad, 43 years old, adding that he was hit by two bullets during the incident, and was taken to the hospital where he is undergoing surgery.

Al-Ahmad is a father of two children and owns a fruit store in Sutherland, and he was passing by the place at the time of the attack, according to what his cousin Mustafa revealed to the Australian Channel 7.
