The Dubai Government Media Office celebrates the graduation of the third batch of the program "DXB500"

DUBAI, 15 DECEMBER / WAM / The Dubai Government Media Office celebrated the graduation of the third batch of the “DXB500” program, a qualitative initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, which aims to train communication leaders in government and semi-governmental agencies in Dubai, and enhance their readiness to deal with the rapid transformations in the media landscape, which contributes to raising the efficiency of the government message and consolidating Dubai’s media presence. Locally and internationally.
The DXB500 program is one of the strategic initiatives implemented by the Dubai Government Media Office, within an integrated vision to build an advanced government communication system, based on developing media leaders, enhancing coordination and integration of messages between government agencies, and employing modern communication tools to create influential content that reflects Dubai’s story and its future directions.
Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and Director General of the Dubai Government Media Office, confirmed that the DXB500 program reflects the vision of the wise leadership in investing in media competencies and building a generation of communication leaders capable of keeping pace with the rapid changes in the media landscape and creating a real and sustainable impact.
Her Excellency said: “The program represents a strategic investment in government communication leaders, and embodies our belief in the importance of empowering these cadres with modern tools and skills that ensure the delivery of government messages accurately, clearly and impactfully. Media work today has become an essential element in supporting public policies, enhancing confidence, and consolidating the positive image of Dubai as a global center for innovation and leadership.”
Her Excellency added: “Through the program, we are keen to develop the capabilities of communications officials in creating content that reflects the story of Dubai and keeps pace with the aspirations of society, using the latest methods of digital storytelling and new media, in a way that enhances the effectiveness of the government message and its proximity to the public.”
Her Excellency pointed out the importance of media campaigns as an essential part of the success of Dubai’s story, whether at the national, economic, educational or health levels, stressing the pivotal role of the media in conveying Dubai’s message and achievements at the local and global levels. She also stressed the importance of employing various media platforms and tools to deliver intense, creative messages capable of making a tangible impact.
The third edition of the program highlighted government campaigns that make a positive impact on society, with a focus on employing digital media tools, creative narratives, and using modern technologies in creating media messages.
It also included a group of specialized sessions and applied workshops led by experts and speakers from prominent local and international media institutions, which covered various topics, including designing influential media campaigns, protecting economic security through strategic communication, confronting misleading information and rumours, creating short and direct content, and best practices in digital government communication.
Hend Fikri, Acting Director of the Strategic Media Relations Department at the Dubai Government Media Office, said: “The DXB500 program represents one of the basic pillars in the development of the government communication system in Dubai, as it contributes to building the capabilities of communication leaders on strategic foundations based on unifying messages, raising the level of media readiness, and enhancing integration between government agencies in dealing with various issues and challenges.”
She added: “The program enhances the role of government communications departments as a strategic partner in supporting public policies, by developing mechanisms for managing media relations, improving the quality of news content, and ensuring the clarity and accuracy of messages in various contexts.”
For her part, Hoda Dahkouni, Director of the DXB500 Program, said: “Through the third cycle of the program, we were keen to develop the capabilities of government communication leaders through training content that keeps pace with the rapid changes in the media landscape, and focuses on providing participants with practical tools that help them launch influential media campaigns that reflect the story of Dubai and support the messages of government agencies.”
She added: “The current course focused on enhancing storytelling skills and multi-platform content creation, and highlighting best practices in government communication and communication with the public, which contributes to raising the efficiency of communication teams and enhancing coordination and integration of media messages.”
Graduates of the program expressed their appreciation for participating in “DXB500,” stressing that the experience was a qualitative milestone that contributed to developing their professional skills and gave them advanced practical tools in the fields of government communication, content creation, and media narratives. They pointed out that the content of the program, including practical sessions and workshops, gave them the opportunity to learn about best international practices, and enhanced their ability to formulate more effective messages, and deal flexibly and professionally with various media challenges, which reflects positively on their institutional performance.
