Dubai Police stresses commitment to safe driving during weather fluctuations

Director of the General Traffic Department at Dubai Police, Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, stressed the importance of vehicle drivers adhering to the utmost caution while driving in light of the weather fluctuations associated with rainfall, as they pose challenges to the safety of road users and the flow of traffic.

He explained that the low level of visibility, vehicles slipping, and the accumulation of water on some roads require drivers to adhere to the specified speeds, leave a sufficient safety distance, and drive calmly and carefully, while avoiding any wrong behavior that may increase the possibility of accidents, stressing the need to fully focus on the road and not be distracted by phones or photography.

Brigadier General Jumaa bin Suwaidan noted that Dubai Police will not tolerate manifestations of dangerous driving or reckless display, as they pose a direct threat to the lives of drivers and others, stressing that traffic laws are applied against anyone who drives his vehicle in a way that endangers public safety, including impounding vehicles and taking the necessary legal measures.

He called on drivers to ensure that their vehicles are ready before setting off, especially the safety of tires, brakes, wipers, and lighting, and to use warning signals correctly.
