The “Mohammed bin Rashid Humanitarian Ship” is loaded at Khalifa Port “Kizad” with more than 10 million meals in support of the residents of Gaza.

Today, the work of loading the “Mohammed bin Rashid Humanitarian Ship” with more than 10 million meals, with a total of 7,249 tons, was completed at Khalifa Port “Kizad” in Abu Dhabi, in support of the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with Operation Gallant Knight 3. The ship will sail towards the port of Al-Arish in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and will reach its destination early next January, before starting to bring aid into the Strip.

The start of loading the ship came in accordance with the timetable set for the initiative launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation on November 25 to prepare the Mohammed bin Rashid Humanitarian Ship and provide more than 10 million meals to alleviate the suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip and support them in light of the current difficult circumstances.

On December 7, the Initiatives Foundation organized a major event at the Dubai Exhibition Center – Expo, and it witnessed wide interaction from various segments of society, as the Initiatives Foundation received more than 20,000 volunteer requests within one week.

The Initiatives Foundation succeeded in achieving the goals of the initiative within a record period, as it completed the preparation of food baskets, each of which is sufficient for a family of 5 people for an entire week. Each basket consists of 20 items that meet the basic food needs of families in the Gaza Strip. When adopting the list of items, the appropriate quantity, variety, high quality, and high nutritional value that suits different age groups were taken into account when adopting the list of items.

Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, confirmed that the “Mohammed bin Rashid Humanitarian Ark” represents a new message of solidarity from the UAE with the people of Gaza, embodying its firm commitment to extending a helping hand to the Palestinian brothers, enabling them to meet their basic needs, overcoming the difficult circumstances in which they live, and providing the conditions necessary to restore their normal lives.

He said: “The loading of the ship with more than 10 million meals, in preparation for its sailing to the Gaza Strip in cooperation with Operation Gallant Knight 3, comes after an important achievement achieved by completing the preparation of meals, through widespread community interaction, and a great demand for volunteering to participate in preparing food baskets,” His Excellency pointed out that the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” Foundation will remain an influential contributor to changing the lives of communities for the better.

For his part, Mohammed Al-Sharif, the official spokesman for Operation Gallant Knight 3, said: “The Mohammed bin Rashid Humanitarian Ship reflects the keenness of our wise leadership to support the Palestinian brothers in various circumstances, and its directives to provide continuous support to the people of Gaza. The UAE has been the largest contributor in the world to providing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in all available ways and means by land, sea and air. There is no doubt that this blessed initiative to equip the Mohammed bin Rashid Humanitarian Ship will have an impact.” A tangible positive impact on the reality of our brothers in the sector.”

He added: “Through Operation Gallant Knight 3, we will continue to conduct relief campaigns for the Strip, provide shipments of food, medicine, and all life necessities around the clock, and make available our great capabilities and expertise in this field to support every effort aimed at alleviating the suffering of the people of Gaza, which is what we have worked to translate over the past two years.”

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation includes more than 30 institutions and institutional initiatives that implement hundreds of projects, programs and campaigns, within five main work axes: humanitarian and relief aid, health care and disease control, disseminating education and knowledge, innovating the future and leadership, and empowering communities. The total volume of spending on initiatives, programs and projects under the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” Foundation within the humanitarian and relief aid axis during the year 2024 amounted to more than 944 million dirhams, benefiting more than 37 million people around the world.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation aims to promote a culture of hope and effectively address the most pressing humanitarian, development and societal problems faced by several regions of the world, with a focus on less fortunate communities, and investing in the human element as the most important vital resource by empowering talent, refining skills and expertise, and building educated, trained and qualified human cadres in all development fields so that they can contribute to leading the development process in their countries.

It also aims to improve the reality of education in marginalized and deprived communities, combat poverty, diseases and epidemics, and promote the values ​​of tolerance and coexistence among peoples and communities.
