Dubai, 18 December / WAM / The Heritage Village in the Global Village in Dubai is preparing tomorrow, Saturday, to receive the longest edition in the history of the camel ride, as the twelfth edition convoy approaches its final stop, having traveled more than half the distance across the sand dunes of the UAE desert, with the participation of 29 participants from 18 different nationalities, both citizens and residents, as part of a journey extending over 21 days for a distance of 1,050 kilometers on the backs of camels, all the way to the village. Heritage.

The journey began from the Al Sila area in the capital, Abu Dhabi, and the convoy took a historical route linked throughout time to the “Pilgrims’ Route.”

The itinerary of the trip extended through a number of prominent stations, reaching the Heritage Village in the Global Village in Dubai, where the conclusion will take place.

His Excellency Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmouk, CEO of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, praised the efforts of the participants in the trip, praising the commitment, cooperation and patience they showed, which contributed to overcoming many of the challenges the convoy faced, especially while crossing some areas with difficult terrain.

He said that the journey faced great challenges, which led to the withdrawal of one of the participants due to his inability to continue the journey, and three others who were unable to complete the journey were replaced, in the context of ensuring everyone’s safety.

He pointed out that the weather conditions that the country is currently witnessing have increased the extent of the challenges, stressing that the convoy is continuing on its path according to the established route, and that the will and determination are present to continue the journey regardless of the circumstances, even if it is necessary to complete some stages on foot.

He added: This trip constituted a true test of team spirit, as the participants faced varying natural conditions, in addition to the difficulty of the paths, which highlights the great role of the trainers of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center in preparing the participants and preparing them to adapt to these conditions.
