The UAE and Saudi Arabia teams were awarded the bronze medal equally in the Arab Cup

An official source in the Emirates Football Association revealed to Emirates Al-Youm that the match between the UAE and Saudi national teams to determine third place in the 2025 Arab Cup, which was held today, Thursday, at Khalifa Al-Dawul Stadium in Doha, was canceled due to rain, and that the two teams were awarded third place in the tournament equally between them, according to the result of the first half of the match, which was a goalless draw.
It is noteworthy that the coaches of the UAE and Saudi national teams had decided that the players of the two teams would not return to the field again due to weather conditions and the fear of being injured as a result of the rain, thunderstorms and conditions that accompanied the match.
The Chilean international match referee, Christian Garay, decided to stop play due to rain and thunderstorms, in order to preserve the safety of the two teams’ players.
For his part, former international football referee and arbitration expert Abdullah Al-Ajel told Emirates Al-Youm that in such cases, the safety of the players is the most important for FIFA.
