The urgent response project was presented to combat Cholera in Yemen Powered by The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Work provided medical services to 2,069 individuals during the period from 3 to 9 December of this year.
The services included comprehensive examinations to detect cholera at Aden and Al-Rayyan airports, and the Al-Hafiya and Razih ports in the regions of Hadhramaut Al-Sahel, Hadhramaut Al-Wadi, Aden, Hajjah, and Saada, without recording any suspected or infected cases of cholera.
In addition to providing 322 awareness sessions. and education, benefiting 8,057 individuals.
Preventive measures
The project targets the areas most affected by the epidemic, reducing infection rates and limiting the spread of cholera, through preventive measures that include establishing specialized medical teams to examine and monitor travelers at air and land ports.
The project includes supporting health facilities with medical supplies for treating cholera, including intravenous and oral irrigation solutions, antibiotics, preventive supplies and materials. Sterilization.
In addition to expanding the clinical capacity in cholera treatment centers to be able to accommodate the increasing cases.
Reducing the spread of epidemics
These efforts come as an extension of the humanitarian and relief role undertaken by the Kingdom, represented by the Center, in supporting the Yemeni health sector, and limiting the spread of epidemics and infectious diseases, in order to preserve the health and safety of the brotherly Yemeni people.
