Granting Jordanian citizenship to Moroccan “Nashama” coach Jamal Salami
The Jordanian national team’s Moroccan coach, Jamal Salami, revealed that “Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah of Jordan informed him that King Abdullah II decided to grant him Jordanian citizenship,” in appreciation of his efforts in getting the team to the 2026 World Cup and the 2025 Arab Cup final.
This came during the press conference after the end of the final match of the Arab Cup Championship that concluded in the Qatari capital, Doha, in which the Moroccan team won the title at the expense of the Jordanian team, during which “Al-Nashama” presented a heroic display despite losing 2-3 after extending to two additional periods.
Salami added: “The Jordanian Federation asked him to manage the Jordanian youth team in the AFC U-23 Championship, as it is the supply line for the first team, in a move that can be considered the nucleus of a Jordanian project similar to the Moroccan project that brought its first team to the semi-finals in the 2022 World Cup, the U-20 team the world champion, the local team the Arab champion, and the Olympic team the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics.”
Moroccan coach Salami enjoys great respect in the Jordanian street after the great development witnessed by the Nashama team under his technical leadership.
