المملكة: The Kingdom welcomes the decision of the United States of America to cancel the sanctions imposed on Syria
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomed the decision of the United States of America Canceling the sanctions imposed on the Syrian Arab Republic, pursuant to the Caesar Act, stressing that this step would support stability, prosperity and development in Syria in a way that achieves the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people.
The decision of the American President
The Kingdom appreciates the great positive role played by His Excellency US President Donald Trump in this context, starting with His Excellency’s announcement of lifting all sanctions imposed on Syria during His Excellency’s historic visit to Riyadh in May 2025, and ending with His Excellency signing the National Defense Authorization Act of 2026, which included the repeal of the Caesar Act.
The Kingdom also expresses its sincere congratulations to the leadership And to the Syrian governmentand to the brotherly Syrian people to lift all sanctions imposed on Syria. And its appreciation for the steps taken by the Syrian government to restore stability in all Syrian regions and create conditions for rebuilding the Syrian state and its economy and the return of Syrian refugees and displaced persons to their regions.
