Who is Professor Badi Hani, winner of the “Arab Geniuses 2025” award in the economics category?

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” announced today that Professor Badi Hani has won the Arab Geniuses Award in the Economics category for the year 2025.
The Arab Geniuses Award in the Economics category for the year 2025 was awarded to Professor Badi Hani from Lebanon, in recognition of his pioneering scientific contributions to econometrics and the development of economic analysis tools, especially in the field of economic panel analysis, which helps researchers study economic data in a deeper and more accurate way, by combining information from different time periods and multiple sources.
Professor Badie’s innovations in econometrics have enabled more accurate assessments of the effects of economic policies in the long run and across different geographical regions.
Today, many governments and institutions use his methods to evaluate the efficiency of economic policies, public spending, and regulatory frameworks for work mechanisms and conditions, which helps in designing more specialized economic policies based on data.
He also provided training courses for cadres, specialists and local economists within international institutions such as the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and central banks in many countries of the world.
Professor Badi’s research contributed to consolidating the theoretical and applied foundations of this vital field, making him a global scientific reference in modern economic studies, especially in the fields of economics related to work, health, and anticipating the future state of the economy using analytical tools.
Professor Badi has published more than 200 scientific papers, and has widely influential academic books, the most prominent of which is his book “Analysis of Economic Data Models,” which is considered a reference for economics students and researchers around the world.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in statistics from the American University of Beirut, a master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University, and a doctorate in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
Professor Badi also presented many specialized studies in the analysis of economic data, economic theory, and econometrics, which dealt with the impact of economic policies on indicators such as health services, workers’ wages, and the level of economic development.
It is noteworthy that, in its third consecutive session, the “Arab Geniuses” initiative has become a leading Arab platform that highlights the creativity of exceptional Arab minds and grants them the highest Arab appreciation in the disciplines of economics, medicine, natural sciences, engineering and technology, literature and arts, architecture and design, to promote a new cognitive, cultural, creative and developmental renaissance and to create and multiply growth opportunities in Arab economies and societies.
The “Geniuses of the Arabs” initiative constitutes a strategic project to build the Arab human being, stimulate the reverse migration of minds, and encourage young Arab generations to be creative, innovative, and lead comprehensive development paths in the Arab world.
The initiative is the largest of its kind in the Arab world today, and has become known as the “Arab Nobel Prize,” while providing Arab societies and Arab youth with distinguished models that will serve as role models for them in following the path of Arab contribution to the path of human civilization.
