Syria seizes anti-aircraft missiles in Deir ez-Zor before they are smuggled

The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Monday the seizure of SAM-7 missiles before they were smuggled out of the country.

The Ministry of Interior said, in a press statement today: “Accurate information was received by the Security Directorate in Albukamal, in the east of the country, indicating that anti-aircraft missiles were hidden inside a house, in preparation for smuggling them out of the country.”

She added, “Based on this information, a controlled raid was carried out, which resulted in the seizure of Sam-7 missiles,” noting that the seized weapons were confiscated.

She pointed out that the competent authorities have begun their investigations to pursue all those involved with the aim of arresting them and bringing them to justice, stressing their continued confrontation with all smuggling and illegal activities, and taking all necessary measures to ensure the country’s security and stability.
