Dubai, December 23 / WAM / The World Green Economy Organization launched the “Green Circles” platform, which includes a series of dialogues to unify visions and efforts between global leaders, policy makers and business leaders, with the aim of enabling a qualitative transformation in the global green economy by stimulating strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors, and accelerating the pace of transformation towards green and comprehensive economic models, while translating its outputs into applicable solutions through the issuance of two specialized policy papers.
In this context, His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, President of the World Green Economy Organization, stressed the strategic dimension of the initiative, saying: The Green Rings represent a practical embodiment of our strategic vision aimed at leading the global transformation towards a flexible green economy. We are working to build innovative dialogue systems that link policies, investments and innovation, to transform global trends into a tangible reality.
He added: Through this initiative, we are keen to link innovation with policies, and to strengthen partnerships that accelerate the transition to a green economy, by building effective partnerships that keep pace with the accelerating pace of climate action and support the achievement of sustainable development goals at the regional and international levels. Through it, we seek to enable an integrated system led by partnerships to achieve a low-carbon future.
His Excellency said: The initiative emphasizes the pivotal role played by the World Green Economy Organization in building bridges of cooperation between the government and private sectors, and creating an interactive dialogue environment that focuses on results and impact, and contributes to accelerating the transition towards a comprehensive and sustainable green economy, based on effective partnerships and the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
He explained that the “Green Circles” initiative is one of the main pillars of the World Green Economy Organization’s strategy, with the aim of enhancing intellectual leadership and creating operational frameworks that translate the commitments of various sectors into concrete actions to accelerate global efforts to build comprehensive and sustainable economies.
Two sessions were organized within the initiative in cooperation with strategic partners. The first session was held in partnership with the American Business Council in Dubai and hosted by the Sustainability and Innovation Center of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, while the second session was organized in cooperation with the Dubai Chambers within the work of the World Green Economy Summit. The two sessions brought together an elite group of representatives of government agencies, business leaders, international institutions and sustainability experts in in-depth dialogues that focused on enabling responsible business practices and enhancing the integration of roles between the public and private sectors.
The outcomes of the two sessions resulted in the preparation of two specialized policy papers, the first entitled “Accelerating the Transition towards Responsible Business,” and the second entitled “Enabling the Sustainability System for Responsible Business,” which addressed the most prominent challenges and opportunities associated with integrating sustainability into business models, and provided practical recommendations to support innovation, strengthen regulatory frameworks, and stimulate sustainable investments.
The World Green Economy Organization called on entities, institutions, the private sector, academic bodies and international organizations to join as partners in hosting future sessions within the initiative, and to contribute to expanding the scope of this global platform in a way that supports the formulation of joint solutions and enhances international efforts to achieve sustainable development goals and build a more prosperous and sustainable green future.
