The Zambian star almost lost his life because he celebrated his “deadly” goal.

In the last breath of the confrontation, Zambian Patson Daka was able to snatch the equalizer for his country against Mali, in the first group of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, currently being held in Morocco, but the joy of the goal turned into horror experienced by the fans and players on the field.
The English Leicester City striker scored the goal with a wonderful header in stoppage time, saving his country from an early defeat and giving them an important point at the start of their journey in the continental championship.
Daka’s joy with the goal was not complete, as when he tried to perform a backflip after scoring the equalizing goal, he fell on his head and neck in a strong way, which caused everyone’s fear.
The player remained lying on the field, which raised the concern of the fans and the medical and technical staff, fearing that he would suffer a serious injury to the neck or head that would end his football career or his life. But the fears quickly dissipated, after Daka got up again and continued his celebration of the goal, before completing the remaining minutes of the match without showing any health complications.
The footage of Dhaka’s celebration of the equalizer topped the social media platforms, as it showed the player’s attempt to perform an acrobatic move and his sudden fall on his neck, in a scene that caught attention and sparked widespread interaction among football fans.
Mali will play host country Morocco in Rabat on Friday, while Zambia will meet Comoros in Casablanca on the same day.
Morocco leads the standings after the host country opened the tournament yesterday, Sunday, with a 2-0 victory over the Comoros in Rabat.
