Dubai.. Imprisonment of a vehicle driver who ran a red light while under the influence of alcoholic beverages

The Dubai Traffic Prosecution referred an Asian driver to court, after he drove a vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages, crossed a red light and collided with a vehicle, injuring two other people.

The prosecution charged him with (consuming alcoholic beverages, driving a vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages, accidentally causing damage to the body of others, and destroying property owned by others as a result of running a red light), and ordered the accused to be imprisoned pending investigation and to punish the accused with the most severe penalties.

Counselor Salah Boufarousha Al Falasi, First Public Attorney, Head of the Traffic and Traffic Prosecution, appealed to all drivers to take the utmost care and caution while driving vehicles on the roads, with the need to adhere to all legal requirements and rules for safe driving in order to preserve the safety of all road users and public and private property, stressing the necessity of adhering to the traffic law.
