The Central Bank of Egypt reduces basic yield rates by 100 basis points

The Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee decided The Central Bank of Egypt, in its meeting today, Thursday, reduced both Deposit yield, overnight lending, and the Central Bank’s main operation rate by 100 basis points to reach 20.00%, 21.00%, and 20.50%, respectively.
The Central Bank explained, in a statement, that the committee also decided to reduce the credit and discount rate by 100 basis points to reach 20.50%, indicating that the decision comes as a reflection of the committee’s assessment of the latest developments Inflation rates and expectations since its previous meeting.
