We hope that the tripartite meeting in Washington will yield good results

Lebanese Information Minister Paul Morcos expressed, today, Tuesday, his hope that today’s tripartite meeting in Washington between Lebanon, Israel, and the United States will produce “the result they aspire to.”
Minister Morcos said about the atmosphere surrounding the tripartite meeting in statements following his meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun today: “I hope for the best, and as the president said before his statement in Bkerke, during it and after it, the solution lies through the negotiation mechanism under international sponsorship, and war only serves to make the destruction greater. Therefore, we are going to the solution that is the basis, and which the president proposed.”
Regarding the start of negotiations before the ceasefire, Minister Morcos replied: “The president’s answer is clear, through calls, emphasis, and pressure for a ceasefire and an end to the war. Therefore, we are following this presidential initiative, and I hope that it will produce the result that we aspire to.”
Today, Baabda Palace witnessed political, ministerial and parliamentary meetings, most of which focused on the latest developments in the south, in addition to the ongoing preparations for the tripartite meeting in Washington, at six o’clock in the evening, Beirut time, between the Lebanese Ambassador to the United States, Nada Hamada Moawad, and the Israeli Ambassador to Washington, Yechiel Laiter, in the presence of the American Ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa, to discuss a ceasefire in Lebanon.
