Conclusion of aquatic activities within the Abu Dhabi Livestock Festival

Abu Dhabi, December 28 / WAM / The aquatic activities were concluded within the Livestock Festival, one of the most prominent festivals accompanying the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence, which was held in the award pavilion at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in the Al Wathba area in Abu Dhabi, amid remarkable success and wide public turnout from different segments of society.
The events witnessed a large attendance of visitors and those interested in the agricultural and food sector. The various programs and interactive activities contributed to enhancing community awareness of the importance of aquaculture and its vital role in supporting the food security and sustainability system in the UAE.
The events highlighted the products of local aquaculture farms, and highlighted modern technologies and sustainable practices that contribute to raising the efficiency of local production, in line with the country’s trends in achieving food security.
The agenda of events varied between educational and educational workshops, scientific lectures, competitions and activities for children and families, in addition to cooking shows, virtual diving, live fishing and government projects related to the aquatic sector, which contributed to providing an integrated experience for visitors that combined knowledge and entertainment.
The activities coincided with the holding of a charity auction of tilapia fish, the proceeds of which were allocated to support the efforts of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, in a step that reflects the humanitarian and social dimension of the festival and enhances the culture of social responsibility and charitable work.

They pointed out that the diversity of accompanying activities, including workshops, specialized lectures and interactive presentations, provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge between specialists, researchers and entrepreneurs, and contributed to raising the level of awareness of best practices in aquaculture, and the role of innovation and modern technologies in achieving sustainability and increasing production efficiency.
They expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence for organizing these qualitative events and its continued support for the agricultural and food sector, stressing that the award contributed to providing a pioneering platform that brings together government and private agencies, promotes innovation, and supports local farmers and producers.

Adel Al-Shabibi, head of the Livestock Festival team, confirmed that the great success achieved by the aquatic activities reflects the extent of planning and integration between the participating parties, noting that the visitor demand expressed the community’s increasing interest in issues of sustainable food and modern agricultural technologies.
He explained that the events included presenting diverse scientific and awareness content that combines academic knowledge and practical application, which contributes to transferring expertise, stimulating innovation, and encouraging investment in the aquaculture sector, which is one of the most promising sectors in supporting national food security.
He added that highlighting local farm products and modern technologies enhances consumer confidence in national production, stressing that such events contribute to building an integrated system that combines scientific research, production and marketing.
He pointed out that the Livestock Festival will continue to develop its programs and expand the scope of participation, thus enhancing the UAE’s position as a leading model in sustainable agriculture and aquaculture.
