Liwa International Festival organizes various events on the occasion of the New Year
Al Dhafra, December 29 / WAM / The organizing committee of the Liwa International Festival announced various activities on New Year’s Eve 2026, with the participation of an elite group of artists, in live performances from the heart of the Liwa Desert.
Fireworks light up the Liwa sky at midnight on December 31 to celebrate the year 2026, transforming it into a vibrant palette of colours, with displays launching simultaneously from 3 main locations, giving visitors a comprehensive visual experience, as the sky of the sand dunes is decorated with fireworks, the Liwa village witnesses a festive display, and then the scene is completed by a third display from the Liwa landmark, adding an additional visual dimension linking the place and the moment.
New Year’s Eve celebrations will witness a number of distinctive experiences, including the launch of the Tal Mereb Championship on December 31, and live performances in various parts of the Liwa village with the participation of the Al-Mayass Band, in addition to drone shows and fireworks in the sand dunes.
