"I can" Initiative concludes "Our heritage, our future"

ABU DHABI, 30 December, 2017 (WAM) – The Khalifa Empowerment Program – Aqdar, concluded the “Our Heritage, Our Future” initiative, which was organized in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, the Advanced Scientific Group, and the Al Marzoum Hunting Reserve, with the aim of strengthening the connection of Emirati youth with their authentic heritage through an integrated cultural and educational program that combines horsemanship, falconry, wilderness skills, and educational activities in artificial intelligence and modern technologies, reflecting a vision that combines authenticity and innovation and contributes to building a balanced and conscious personality. The initiative, which lasted for four days, witnessed a number of field activities, including a visit to the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club during which members participated in training workshops on caring for Arabian horses, and received practical training on riding and dressage skills, in addition to a visit to the advanced scientific group to learn about the mechanism of work of the laboratories and sections of the group, in addition to a visit to the Al Marzoum Hunting Reserve, where they watched live falconry performances and learned about the skills of hunting with falcons and dogs.

The initiative’s activities concluded with an educational workshop on artificial intelligence presented by Dr. Youssef Mahmoud Al-Assaf, President of the University of Rochester Technology in Dubai, and aimed to introduce students to the most important modern applications and how to employ them in the future. The entities cooperating in organizing the initiative and the participating students were also honored.

Colonel Dr. Muhammad Ismail Al Harmoudi, CEO of the Khalifa Empowerment Program – Aqdar, said that the “Our Legacy, Our Future” initiative embodied the vision of the Khalifa Empowerment Program – Aqdar in developing the awareness of new generations and strengthening their connection to their national identity, pointing out the keenness of the enrolled students to learn and benefit from field experiences that combined equestrian, falconry, and land-based life skills, noting that the artificial intelligence workshop contributed to expanding their awareness and giving them practical cognitive skills that keep pace with the country’s aspirations for a better future. He added that the students benefited from a rich and comprehensive experience that allowed them to learn about the heritage of their ancestors in a live and practical way, and at the same time opened up new horizons for them in the fields of science and technology, pointing out that Aqdar believes that building a balanced Emirati personality begins with consolidating national values ​​and connecting children to their roots, in addition to empowering them with future skills, so that they are able to contribute to the renaissance of the Emirates and create a brighter tomorrow.
