The UAE dazzles the world and launches the year 2026 with exceptional fireworks displays and perfect security organization
ABU DHABI, 1st January / WAM / The UAE began the New Year 2026 with a majestic festive scene that caught the attention of the world, as the country’s sky was transformed after midnight into an open stage for innovative fireworks displays and dazzling light formations, amid the presence of a large crowd of citizens, residents and tourists who came to document these exceptional moments.
These celebrations were the culmination of the hard work and proactive plans developed by the various security and service agencies to ensure that the event emerges in a civilized manner befitting the reputation of the state.
In the capital, Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Festival in the Al Wathba area recorded a remarkable attendance, as visitors watched a huge display of drones with the participation of 6,500 aircraft in one flight for 20 minutes, while the fireworks displays mixed with the traditional atmosphere, providing an integrated visual and audio experience, and the cultural district on Saadiyat Island and the Corniche witnessed festive gatherings and fireworks that reflected the spirit of joy to welcome the new year.
In Dubai, the emirate strengthened its position as one of the most prominent New Year’s destinations in the world, as attention was focused on Burj Khalifa and the downtown area, which witnessed a display that combined laser technology and fireworks in a unique visual harmony, in conjunction with broad activities that included Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, and the Global Village.
These scenes were complemented by the performances that decorated the skies of all the emirates of the country, from the waterfronts of Sharjah, all the way to the performance platforms in Ras Al Khaimah, which continues to achieve records, and Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah, in a unified symphony that covered all parts of the country.
This success was the result of an integrated work system and huge logistical preparations. The approved traffic and security plans have proven to be extremely effective in managing the millions of crowds and ensuring the smooth flow of movement in the vital arteries and around the events.
The extensive field deployment of patrols, civil defense teams and ambulances, supported by smart monitoring technologies, contributed to providing a safe festive environment, which the public responded to with great awareness and full commitment to regulatory guidelines, so that the UAE presents to the world a pioneering model in managing major events efficiently and competently.
