Strong competitions in date decoration at Al Dhafra Festival

Al Dhafra, 8 January / WAM / The date decoration competitions held as part of the closing activities of the 19th session of the Al Dhafra Festival are witnessing a wide turnout and strong competition among farmers.

The auction includes a number of categories that highlight the diversity and quality of date varieties.

The festival organizing committee identified four types of dates for auction, which are “fard, dabbas, khalas, and shishi,” in addition to the date packaging competition, and determined a set of requirements and standards that must be met to participate in the various categories of the competition.

The results of the Al-Dabbas category competitions resulted in a victory, with Khadim Muhammad Baloch Barak Al-Mazrouei winning first place, Abdullah Sultan Al-Qubaisi taking second place, and Muhammad Saif Murshid Al-Marar coming in third place. In the Khalas category competitions, Rashid Saeed Al-Ariani won first place, Fadel Omair Al-Mansouri came in second place, and Ali Saeed Al-Arian came in third place.

The date decoration competitions aim to encourage farmers to adhere to the best agricultural practices, and motivate them to develop palm care methods, in addition to enhancing the position of dates as one of the most prominent national agricultural products, supporting agricultural sustainability and preserving this important economic and nutritional heritage.
