Al-Nasr breaks the 100 barrier in the Al-Jazeera basket…and clinches second place in the league

Al-Nasr team defeated its guest Al-Jazira with a heavy score (121-58), today, Friday, at the end of the preliminary round of the basketball league championship, while Al-Wasl won at home and in front of its fans over Al-Dhafra (95-71).

The round opened yesterday, Thursday, with two matches, during which the Shabab Al-Ahly team succeeded in seizing the lead by defeating its host, Sharjah (93-68), and Al-Bataeh won away from home over Al-Wahda by (85-80).
The direct confrontations played a decisive role in awarding Al-Nasr the runner-up position in the overall standings, despite sharing with Al-Sharjah the same score of 25 points each, a point ahead of Shabab Al-Ahly, the leaders, especially since “Al-Ameed” defeated “Al-Malik” in the home and away matches by (89-88) and (87-66) respectively, while Al-Bataeh finished the preliminary round in fourth place with 24 points, five points behind Al-Wasl, which holds the position. Fifth with 20 points, Al Jazira maintains its sixth position with 17 points, one point ahead of Al Dhafra in seventh place, and Al Wahda ends the preliminary round in eighth and final place with 14 points.
