The Emirates Red Crescent launches the final phase of the homes project for those affected by the floods in Malaysia

The Emirates Red Crescent Authority launched the final phase of the homes project for those affected by the floods in the state of Bhang, Malaysia, as part of the ongoing humanitarian and development efforts of the United Arab Emirates to support affected communities around the world.
The implementation of this project comes under the generous directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and with the close follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, in confirmation of the UAE’s established humanitarian approach in providing relief to those affected and promoting societal stability.
The ceremony was opened by the Sultan of Bhang, Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, and the UAE Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, along with a number of officials in the Bhanj state government and representatives of community bodies.
The project aims to provide adequate housing for families affected by the floods, as it included the construction and integrated furnishing of the affected homes distributed over 7 governorates in the state of Bhang, at a total cost of 11.2 million dirhams. The project was completed 100% according to standards that guarantee safety and quality of living.
During his speech during the ceremony, the Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority expressed his thanks and appreciation to Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayat al-Din al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and to the state government, for the facilities and support they provided that contributed to the completion of the project and the achievement of its humanitarian goals, stressing that this cooperation reflects the depth of bilateral relations and the common keenness to serve the most needy groups.
He also affirmed the Authority’s continued commitment to implementing sustainable humanitarian and development projects, and enhancing cooperation with local and international partners, which contributes to improving the living conditions of those affected, and consolidating the values of human solidarity and solidarity pursued by the UAE.
For his part, Sultan Abdullah expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him” for the continuous support that the UAE provides to the state of Bhang in various fields, and pointed out that the UAE is a pioneer in extending a helping hand to all groups in need around the world under the wise leadership of His Highness the President of the State, “may God protect him.”
He also praised the role of the Emirates Red Crescent in the humanitarian and development fields, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.
In the same context, Ambassador Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri stressed that the bilateral relations between the UAE and Malaysia are strategic and distinguished, especially with the entry into force of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement in October 2025.
He also pointed out that the state of Bhang enjoys speciality in the bilateral relations between the two countries, given the fraternal and friendly relations that link His Highness the President of the State, “may God protect him” with Sultan Abdullah, Sultan of Bhanj.
