Kazakh Rybakina joins the list of stars of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Women’s Tennis Championship

ABU DHABI, 12 JANUARY / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the organizing body for the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open Women’s Tennis Championship (500 points category), announced that Kazakh star Yelena Rybakina has joined the list of stars participating in the fourth edition of the tournament, which will be held from January 31 to February 7 at the International Tennis Complex in Zayed Sports City.
Rybakina, ranked fifth in the world, is considered one of the most prominent stars of the game in the world, as she won the Wimbledon Championship in 2022, and also reached the final of the Australian Open in 2023, and won several titles in the 500 and 1000 categories, including the 2025 Women’s Tennis Association Finals title in Riyadh, after her victory over world number one Aryna Sabalenka.
The tournament also witnesses the return of Belinda Bencic, the Swiss Olympic champion, who seeks to maintain her unbeaten record in the tournament after winning the title in 2023 and 2025, to remain the only player who has not lost any match in the history of the event.
The list of participants also includes Spanish star Paula Badosa, formerly ranked second in the world and champion of Indian Wells, and rising Canadian Victoria Mpoko, who made a remarkable jump in the world rankings during the 2025 season after winning the Montreal and Hong Kong titles, along with Filipino star Alexandra Eala.
Prominent names will also participate in the tournament, including Czech Barbora Krejcikova, the champion of the major tournaments in singles and doubles, and Marketa Vondrousova, the 2023 Wimbledon champion, along with American Emma Navarro, Danish Clara Tawson, and Canadian Leila Fernandez, runner-up in the 2023 French Open.
The 2026 edition also witnesses the participation of former Roland Garros champion Jelena Ostapenko, Chinese Chenwen Zheng, Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, and 2020 Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin.
