Referral of the Egyptian Minister of Education to trial and demands for his removal from office

Egyptian media reported today, Wednesday, that the Egyptian Minister of Education, Mohamed Abdel Latif, has been referred to criminal trial before the Cairo Misdemeanor Court, against the backdrop of his accusation of deliberately refraining from implementing a final judicial ruling issued against him.

According to the Cairo 24 website, the Court of Appeal has scheduled next May 13, the first session in the trial of the Minister of Education, due to his refusal to implement a judicial ruling, while demanding his imprisonment, removal from office, and obligating him to pay an amount of one million pounds in compensation.

The details of the incident are due to the cassation lawyer, Amr Abdel Salam, in his capacity as an agent for the owners of a school in Minya Governorate, who filed a direct criminal lawsuit against the Minister of Education, accusing him of refraining from implementing a final and enforceable judicial ruling issued against him by the Minya Court of First Instance in Case No. 77 of 2013, civil, full government, which ordered the expulsion of the Minister of Education in his capacity from the school rented to him according to the lease contract, and the delivery of the school to the plaintiffs free of concerns and obligating him With expenses, and in exchange for attorney’s fees, this ruling was upheld on appeal in accordance with the ruling issued by the Beni Suef Court of Appeal, Minya Municipality, with the ruling issued in Case No. 489 of 52 Judicial Year rejecting and upholding the appealed ruling, according to “Al-Masry Al-Youm” newspaper.
