Strong competition in camel competition at Al Dhafra Festival

Abu Dhabi, 14 January / WAM / The “Camel Parade” as part of the final leg of the Al Dhafra Festival in its 19th session will witness strong competitions between camel owners in various categories, amid a heritage atmosphere that expresses the authenticity of this ancient heritage and its solid place in Emirati culture, and confirms the role that the parade plays in preserving heritage and enhancing its presence among generations, as it is one of the most prominent main events of the Al Dhafra Festival.

Today, Wednesday, camel grooming competitions were held across 6 rounds designated for yearlings in the local and Majahim categories, and 60 prizes were allocated to the winners.

The winners were crowned by His Excellency Saeed Salem Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Citizens Affairs Department at the Office of the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, and His Excellency Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Festivals and Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, within a festive atmosphere and with the participation of a wide audience of festival visitors and camel auction enthusiasts.

Today morning witnessed the entry of camels to the overnight booths for the Sin al-Hawl-Sharaya rounds (Local, Majahim, Al-Mahjeen, Al-Asayel and Al-Wadh) in preparation for the overnight and judging stage, the results of which will be announced tomorrow at the camel auction platform in Madinat Zayed and through the “Our Heritage” platforms of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and through the Baynounah Channel and Al Dhafra Festival Radio 90.1 FM in the vicinity of the auction site.
