Trump accepts Machado’s Nobel Peace Prize and keeps it

A White House official said that US President Donald Trump will keep the Nobel Peace Prize won by Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, after she presented it to him during their meeting.
Trump wrote in a post on his “Truth Social” platform: “I had the great honor to meet Maria Corina Machado, from Venezuela. Maria awarded me the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of the work I did. It is a wonderful gesture of mutual respect.”
According to an informed source, Machado left the award at the White House, and it is now in the possession of the president.
Trump had long aspired to obtain this award, but the awarding committee made it clear that it was not shareable or transferable. She previously posted on the “X” Twitter platform: “The award can be transferred from one owner to another, but the title of the Nobel Peace Prize winner cannot be changed.”
