cooperation "Emirates Nuclear Energy" And two institutions in Canada to promote nuclear research

ABU DHABI, 16 JANUARY / WAM / The Emirates Nuclear Energy Company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saskatchewan Research Council, the leading Canadian organization in the field of technological research and development, and the Global Institute for Energy, Minerals and Society in Canada, on the sidelines of the World Future Energy Summit, with the aim of enhancing cooperation in the fields of nuclear research and development and developing human capabilities.

The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation in the field of mini-nuclear reactors and advanced reactor systems, in addition to working to enhance operational performance and improve the efficiency and reliability of plants. It also explores the practical use of digital applications, including artificial intelligence and robotics, to support safe and responsible nuclear operations.

The memorandum supports the exchange of knowledge and the development of competencies and human cadres, which contributes to building long-term capabilities in the nuclear energy sector, and enhances the benefit of the UAE’s expertise in implementing and operating the Barakah nuclear power plants and international cooperation in this sector.
