The disappearance of an Indonesian plane carrying 11 people

On Saturday, search teams combed a rugged area of limestone hills in the Indonesian province of South Sulawesi, after a plane carrying 11 people lost contact with air traffic controllers as it approached the regional center of Makassar, officials said.
The Ministry of Transport said that the aircraft, an ATR 42-500 turboprop aircraft operated by the Indonesian Air Transport Company, was heading from Yogyakarta on the island of Java to Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar when communication was suddenly lost.
