Sharjah Sports Club wins 9 cups and 99 colored medals in the Emirates Karate Cup Championship
Sharjah, January 18 / WAM / Sharjah Sports Club won 9 cups in the Emirates Karate Cup Championship in its second round out of 10 cups allocated to the winners of the tournament hosted yesterday in the Sharjah Sports Club gym.
The club’s players in the kata category succeeded in winning all the cups offered, as they won 5 cups in total, after winning the men’s, youth, under-21, junior, and junior cups.
The Sharjah Club Kumite category went on to win 4 out of 5 cups, as the players won the Cubs, Junior, Youth and U-21 cups, while the men’s category cup was postponed to the final round.
The champions of the Sharjah Karate Club set a new record after winning the largest number of medals in the tournament, which amounted to 99 various medals, winning 41 gold medals, 30 silver medals, and 28 bronze medals.
Engineer Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Al-Hajri, member of the Board of Directors and head of individual games, congratulated the karate team on the distinguished result, stressing that it is the result of a great effort from the players and the technical and administrative staff.
He explained that the karate champions have always achieved outstanding results and the management of individual games spares no effort in providing all the aids to the club teams to achieve the desired results and continue achieving achievements.
He said that it is good to open the karate season with this achievement and to collect all these cups, stressing that this result will be reflected in the players’ performance in future competitions, and we aspire for the players to continue to provide strong performances and add more achievements to the King’s Castle.
