Tomatoes fell by more than 21% amid mixed price movement for vegetables


The prices of cooked vegetables and legumes in Saudi Arabia witnessed a noticeable price movement during the month of December 2025, as the prices of 11 items increased, the prices of 10 items decreased, and the prices of 4 items stabilized compared to November of the same year, according to data General Authority for Statistics.

According to the averages bulletin Commodity prices For the month of December 2025, local tomatoes recorded a sharp decline of 21.4%, as their price fell from 6.7 riyals per kilo in November to 5.3 riyals in December, followed by imported tomatoes, with a decline of 7.2% from 6.9 riyals per kilo in November to 6.4 riyals per kilo in December.

Green beans declined by 5.1%, recording 11.9 riyals in December, compared to 12.5 riyals in the previous November. The price of local cold green pepper also fell by 5.4% to 7.8 riyals compared to 8.3 riyals in November, while local hot pepper remained unchanged at 8.5 riyals per kilo.

Variation in leaf prices

The price of local lettuce (1 kg) decreased by 1.4% in December, recording 5.8 riyals compared to 5.8 riyals in the previous month, and white cabbage declined 5.4% to record 3.7 riyals, while the price of Local molokhiya increased by 8.9%, reaching 2.9 riyals per package in December, compared to 2.7 riyals in the previous November, while the price of watercress stabilized at 1.1 riyals, and spinach at 1.3 riyals.

Roots and tubers

The price of carrots increased Local rose by 4.9% during the month of December to record 6 riyals per kilo compared to 5.7 riyals in the previous month, and local medium potatoes rose by 3.8% to 4.6 riyals in December compared to 4.4 riyals in the previous November.

As for imported round onions, they rose by 3.6%, recording 4.9 riyals in December compared to 4.7 riyals in November, while local onions remained unchanged at 3.8. riyals per kilo, and Chinese garlic fell 1.5% to 10.9 riyals in December compared to 11.1 riyals in November.

Pulses and other vegetables

The price of pumpkin recorded a slight decline of 1%, to record 5.7 riyals per kilo in December compared to 5.8 riyals in November, and zucchini fell 3.1% from 6.2 riyals in November to 6 riyals in December. Local black eggplant also fell by 4% to 4.8 riyals in December compared to 5 riyals in the previous month.

Meanwhile, the price of Spanish black olives fell by 1.4% to 24.9 riyals in December compared to 25.3 riyals in the previous November, and lentils fell by 2.1% to record 9.6 riyals per kilo in December compared to 9.9 riyals in the previous month.

The fava beans remained stable. (450 g) at 4.7 riyals per package, local sauce at 2 riyals per package (135 g), and sweet corn (340 g) at 6.3 riyals.
