The amendments to the standards of “animal welfare” and public safety stressed the prohibition of displaying or selling any animal that shows signs of fatigue, stress, or disease symptoms, while obligating those in charge of the market to immediately isolate it from the healthy herd to prevent the spread of diseases.
With regard to the camel sector, the regulations have introduced a system for documenting transactions, obligating owners to register complete data for any sale, rental or barter transaction within a time limit not exceeding 30 days from the date of concluding the contract.
The required documentation data includes precise details including the type of camel, its age, sex, colour, in addition to the financial price of the deal, as part of controls that the ministry will issue to ensure transparency and combat cover-up or irregular practices.
