Valentino Garavani was born in Voghera, Lombardy, Italy, on May 11, 1932. He entered the world of fashion design from an early age, where he trained under the supervision of his aunt Rosa and local designer Ernestina Salvadio. He then moved to Paris to pursue training at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, with the help of his mother, Teresa de Biagi, and his father, Mauro Garavani.
The Valentino Garavani Foundation announced on its official Instagram page the death of the famous Italian fashion designer, mourning him with a statement that said: “Valentino Garavani passed away today at his home in Rome, surrounded by his loved ones.”

Valentino Garavani started his own line of fashion designs, starting from the Italian capital, Rome, in 1959, founding the Valentino House, which became a symbol of Italian luxury and elegance. During his career, he launched several famous lines, such as: “Valentino”, “Valentino Garavani”, “Valentino Roma”, and “R.E.D. Valentino, and since 2010, Valentino perfumes have joined the Puig company. To enhance the brand’s presence globally.

In 1960, he met his business partner, Giancarlo Gametti, who was then a young architecture student. Together, the duo transformed the House of Valentino into a prestigious international brand. The late Italian designer was known for his deep love of fashion and his unique creative style, which eluded imitation.
