Dubai Holding acquires the Spanish resort of Jumeirah Mallorca

Dubai Holding announced the acquisition, through its subsidiary Dubai Holding Hospitality, of the five-star Jumeirah Mallorca resort on the Spanish island of Mallorca, in a move that strengthens its portfolio of global assets in the hospitality sector.
It stated that the resort will continue to operate under the management of the “Jumeirah” brand, to remain part of its portfolio of luxury hotel facilities in Europe, which includes properties in London, Capri and Geneva, thus establishing the group’s presence in the most prominent European entertainment destinations.
The Jumeirah Mallorca Resort is located in the Port de Sóller area on the northwest coast of the island. It includes 121 hotel rooms, and provides panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It also holds a platinum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certificate, reflecting its commitment to standards of sustainability and energy efficiency.
Amit Kaushal, Group CEO of Dubai Holding, said: “This acquisition represents a qualitative strategic addition to our growing global business portfolio in the hospitality sector, and confirms our firm commitment to investing in distinguished assets that enhance the long-term value of the group. Jumeirah Mallorca embodies the exceptional standards and high-end guest experience that have long been associated with the names ‘Dubai Holding Hospitality’ and ‘Jumeirah’. As we continue to expand our presence in the most prominent global destinations, our focus remains focused on increasing the efficiency of performance across our portfolio and creating sustainable value through thoughtful growth.”
Dubai Holding indicated its intention, following the completion of the acquisition, to pump additional investments to improve the hotel experience at the resort and enhance its position as one of the main destinations of the “Jumeirah” brand in the Mediterranean region.
With this deal, Dubai Holding Hospitality increases the size of its international portfolio to 34 hotels and resorts, including five Jumeirah branded hotels in Europe, as part of the group’s strategy to build a diversified and flexible global investment portfolio in the luxury hospitality sector.
