879.785 million dirhams of Ministry of Defense deals on the first day of “UMEX and SimTEX 2026”

The Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council “Tawazun” announced that the Ministry of Defense’s deals on the first day of “UMEX and SimTEX 2026” amounted to 879.785 million dirhams, resulting from four deals.

The announcement of these deals comes within the framework of the strategic role played by Tawazun in strengthening the defense and security industries system, supporting the readiness of the armed forces, and developing local and international strategic partnerships, in line with the UAE’s trends in localizing advanced industries and transferring knowledge and technology.

The deals were announced by the official spokespersons of the Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council, Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi and Mana Abdul Karim Al Mansouri, who confirmed that the announcement of the deals will continue throughout the three days of the exhibition, reflecting the growing momentum witnessed in the unmanned systems sector, simulation solutions and training.

The first day witnessed the announcement of three deals for the Edge Group, where the first deal was to develop SCORPIO S and SCORPIO M drones, at a value of 28 million and 883 thousand dirhams, while the second deal was allocated to developing a gyrocopter and converting it into a drone for transportation purposes, at a value of 22 million dirhams. The third deal included the purchase of ANAVIA HT-100 aircraft at a value of 661 million and 194 thousand dirhams.

A contract was signed with Diveco International Military Equipment, one of the companies of the Remah International Group, to purchase remote control vehicles at a value of 167 million 708 thousand dirhams.

The two official spokespersons stressed that these deals reflect the growing importance of UMEX and SimTEX as a global strategic platform that brings together decision makers, experts and companies specialized in the fields of unmanned systems, simulation, training, and future solutions, and contributes to supporting national security and defense goals.

They pointed out that the upcoming announcements during the exhibition days will include additional deals that will enhance the UAE’s position as a regional and global center for advanced defense industries.
