Dubai Holding acquires Jumeirah Mallorca in Spain

Dubai Holding Group announced yesterday that it has acquired, through its subsidiary, Dubai Holding Hospitality, the five-star luxury resort, Jumeirah Mallorca, in the Port de Sóller area on the Spanish island of Mallorca.

It stated, in a statement, that “Jumeirah,” the group’s specialized hospitality brand, will continue to manage the luxury resort, which includes 121 hotel rooms.

After completing the acquisition of Deka Immobili, Dubai Holding intends to pump additional investments to improve the hotel experience at the resort, thus consolidating its position as one of the main destinations of the Jumeirah brand in the Mediterranean region.

This deal is a translation of Dubai Holding’s strategy, which aims to invest in quality assets within vital international markets, in support of its long-term vision of building a diversified and flexible global investment portfolio.

Group CEO of Dubai Holding, Amit Kaushal, said: “This acquisition represents a qualitative strategic addition to our growing global business portfolio in the hospitality sector, and confirms our firm commitment to investing in distinguished assets that enhance the long-term value of the group.”

He added: “Jumeirah Mallorca embodies the exceptional standards and high-end guest experience that have long been associated with the names (Dubai Holding Hospitality) and (Jumeirah), and as we continue to expand our presence in the most prominent global destinations, our focus remains focused on raising the efficiency of performance across our portfolio and creating sustainable value through thoughtful growth.”

With this acquisition, Dubai Holding Hospitality increases the size of its international portfolio to 34 hotels and resorts, including five hotels bearing the Jumeirah brand distributed throughout Europe. The company’s portfolio includes an elite group of the finest international brands in the field of hospitality, including the Bvlgari Dubai Hotel, and its distinguished dining options, in addition to Jumeirah, the local luxury hospitality brand that manages 29 famous properties in the most important global destinations.
