Al Dhafra Book Festival celebrates promising artistic experiences

ABU DHABI, 22nd JANUARY / WAM / Al Dhafra Book Festival 2026, organized by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, during the period from 19 to 25 January, will be filled with rich events that revitalize the artistic movement in the Al Dhafra region, and reflect the festival’s belief in the role of art as a universal human language, a space to celebrate creativity, honor artists, and highlight promising local artistic experiences.

In the Arts Corner, young Emirati youth present their creative experiences in an open spirit of dialogue and participation, giving the audience of the festival held in Madinat Zayed Public Park the opportunity to participate in the workshops that they supervise, in a scene that reflects the vitality and richness of the program.

The artist, engineer Khalfan Al-Marashdeh, participates in artistic works based on the use of Rubik’s cubes and transforming them into mosaic paintings built from small, precise units, in an experience that combines engineering and fine art.

Artist Qamra Al Mansouri, a resident of Al Dhafra City, also participates in distinguished works in ceramic art, and displays beautiful digital paintings of horses.

Al Mansouri began her artistic journey in the year 2019 in traditional drawing, before moving to the world of digital drawing, finally turning to the art of ceramics, and presenting pottery pieces with a heritage character inspired by the environment and identity of the Al Dhafra region.

As for the artist Iman Al-Tamimi, she began her experience with the art of resin in the year 2024, and relied in her career on trying and practicing without enrolling in training courses, until she reached an advanced stage that included drying roses and tree leaves and using them in her artistic works. The duration of completion of one piece ranges between one and four days according to the nature of the work.

Artist Zainab Fadel presents handmade works that reflect her passion for detail and creativity, and the diversity of her artistic experience is evident between accessories, drawing, and embroidery in a special style. Zainab draws inspiration for her work from nature, feelings, and contemporary art, noting that drawing was her gateway to the world of embroidery, stressing that her participation in the Al Dhafra Book Festival 2026 represents an opportunity to introduce her talent, communicate with other artists, and interact with the public.

Artist Ali Al Hammadi, a photographer, shares a visual experience that stems from his passion for the nature of the Al Dhafra region, where he started out as an amateur photographer, before turning into a professional in 2010, specializing in nature photography, especially in the Liwa region, and photographing wild animals.

His career culminated in winning second place in the Exposure International Photography Competition in Sharjah in 2023, in addition to two awards he received from Al Dhafra Municipality for two paintings of the Liwa area. One of his distinctive photos was also published in National Geographic magazine and on its digital platforms.
