Nouakchott, January 22nd, WAM / A delegation from the International Charitable Trust, headed by His Excellency Dr. Khalid Abdul Wahab Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the Commission, yesterday began a visit to Mauritania, with the aim of inspecting and implementing 90 charitable projects for the benefit of poor villages and the most needy groups.
Among the most prominent projects are the maintenance and furnishing of mosques and preparing them to receive worshipers during the month of Ramadan, in addition to digging wells, and iftar projects for Muslim villages, which included distributing food parcels to poor and needy families, in addition to implementing zakat projects, and other seasonal and development initiatives that aim to improve the standard of living and enhance social stability, in line with the purposes of the month of Ramadan and its human values.
His Excellency Dr. Khaled Abdul Wahab Al Khaja said that this field visit came within the framework of early preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, the month of giving, compassion and human solidarity, as the Authority was keen for its projects to directly touch the needs of poor families, and for aid to reach those who deserve it in a timely manner and with the highest degree of efficiency.
He added that this visit falls within a series of ongoing tours carried out by the Authority in a number of African countries, out of its belief in the importance of field presence and strengthening humanitarian partnerships that ensure the sustainability of projects and achieve a long-term development impact.
Al Khaja praised the importance of the role of donors in supporting and sustaining these projects, calling on charitable people to double their giving before the holy month of Ramadan, because of this giving’s great merit and direct impact in changing the lives of thousands of families, and to contribute to very great projects that help them perform acts of worship and obedience.
