The Eastern Kalba Sea Festival kicks off on January 29

Sharjah, January 22nd, WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Al Sharqiyah Channel from Kalba and Sharjah Sports Channel, affiliated with the Sharjah Broadcasting and Television Authority, during the period from January 29th until next February 1st, in cooperation with the Sharjah Marine Sports Club, are organizing the second edition of the Al Sharqiyah from Kalba Marine Festival 2026, with financial prizes amounting to one million dirhams.
The announcement of the festival came during a press conference held today at Kalba Waterfront in the presence of His Excellency Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the Sharjah Broadcasting and Television Authority, Ismail Issa Al Hosani, Director of Al Sharqiya Channel from Kalba, Abdul Rahim Al Hammadi, Director of Programs at Sharjah Sports Channel, and Mohammed Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Director of the Human Resources Department at the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, along with representatives of sponsoring companies and a number of media representatives.
His Excellency Salem Ali Al Ghaithi said: Organizing the Al Sharqiya Festival from Kalba Marine enhances the Emirati maritime heritage and contributes to highlighting the cultural face of the cities of the Eastern Region, explaining that the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, by organizing many sporting and cultural events related to our authentic heritage, confirms its commitment to its vital role in supporting social activities at the emirate level.
The festival, which is held on Kalba Corniche Street, witnesses a variety of marine races that attract participants from citizens and Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including the Eastern Kalba Championship for 30-foot rowing, and the Eastern Kalba Championship for fishing for kingfish and yodder (tuna fish).
It also includes a heritage village in which visitors will find popular competitions, interactive workshops, and displays of authentic traditional arts, taking them on a beautiful journey deep into the marine heritage and giving families a complete festive experience that combines fun and knowledge.
