Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence and the World Economic Forum sign an agreement to establish the Abu Dhabi Center for the Future of Artificial Intelligence

Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence and the World Economic Forum announced the signing of a joint cooperation agreement aimed at establishing the Abu Dhabi Center for the Future of Artificial Intelligence, in a step that reflects the commitment of both sides to support international efforts to enhance readiness for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and to consolidate the UAE’s position as a global center for innovation in the field of artificial intelligence.
The signing took place in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Member of the World Economic Forum Leadership Council, Borg Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum “Davos”, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BlackRock, and Interim Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Economic Forum, Larry Fink.
This cooperation comes in line with the UAE’s vision to lead the future of artificial intelligence at the global level, and to strengthen international partnerships that contribute to employing advanced technologies to support sustainable economic and social development.
Under the agreement, which extends for three renewable years, the new center will join the network of centers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution of the World Economic Forum, to serve as a platform that brings together decision-makers from governments, the private sector, civil society and academia, with the aim of designing and implementing initiatives that contribute to enhancing national and regional competitiveness in the field of artificial intelligence.
The center will work to develop an integrated system for artificial intelligence by supporting scientific research, strengthening infrastructure, developing governance frameworks, and accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies, thus enhancing the role of Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence as a major driver of regional and global competitiveness in this vital sector.
The agreement also stipulates the enhancement of knowledge cooperation and the exchange of experiences, by allowing the center’s cadres to participate in fellowship programs and global projects affiliated with the World Economic Forum, in addition to issuing joint research reports, and organizing specialized sessions and events on the forum’s international platforms.
The World Economic Forum is supporting the Center by integrating it into its global artificial intelligence communities, providing access to its advanced digital platforms, and contributing to disseminating the Center’s research and knowledge outputs at the international level.
