Zelensky appreciates the role of the UAE and the Head of State in mediating and hosting the tripartite meetings

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a blog post on the X platform on Saturday, expressed his “gratitude” to the United Arab Emirates and to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” personally, for mediating and hosting the heads of delegations participating in the tripartite talks in Abu Dhabi, which include the United States, Russia, and Ukraine, to find political solutions to the Ukrainian crisis. Zelensky also appreciated the UAE’s willingness to host more meetings.

Zelensky announced that “a lot” was discussed during the “constructive” talks that brought together Russia, Ukraine, and the United States in Abu Dhabi.

“A lot was discussed, and it is important that the talks were constructive,” Zelensky said on social media after the talks ended in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.

He added: “If there is a willingness to move forward – and Ukraine is ready – other meetings will be held, perhaps early next week.”

He continued: “The main focus of the discussions was on the possible criteria for ending the war. I greatly appreciate the awareness of the importance of American monitoring and control over the course of ending the war and ensuring actual security.”

Zelensky explained, “The American side raised the issue of possible formulas for consolidating the criteria for ending the war and the security conditions necessary for that.”

The talks began on Friday in Abu Dhabi, and will continue for two days, as part of efforts to enhance dialogue and find political solutions to the crisis.

It is noteworthy that the UAE has succeeded in completing 17 mediation processes for the exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine, according to which 4,641 prisoners were released, which reflects the depth of the relations between the UAE and the two countries and embodies its role as a reliable mediator in supporting diplomatic and humanitarian solutions.
